Why Should You Buy a 50mm f/1.8?

Why Should You Buy a 50mm f/1.8?

Whenever you ask a 'pro-tog' (professional photographer) on what lens you should buy after your kit lens, we bet that they will recommend the 50mm f/1.8.

In this video of Peter Mckinnon, the photographer and cinematographer explains the reasons why you should you get the Nifty Fifty lens. He starts with the ability of the lens of having a fast aperture (f/1.8), meaning, it allows light more — good for low light situations. Next, he pointed out the portability of the lens. Due to its small size, this can be tossed around your bag without breaking your heart (well, it still will if it gets broken!) but the point is, compared to the P100,000 peso lens this will give you that bokehlicious background at a fraction of size and weight.

Still not convinced just yet? Well you can always try the 50mm f/1.8 lenses at all Camerahaus stores nationwide and you'll see what we're talking about. And just in case you are decided by this time, Canon 50mm f/1.8 is priced at P6,998, Nikon 50mm f/1.8 (D) is at P6,750, and the Pentax nifty fifty is at P6,495, SRP.
